What Goes Wrong with Your Freezer?
Too Much Noise
If you hear any knocking or banging coming from your freezer, this is not normal. The evaporator coils need replacing. We can help you with that!
Too Much Frost
This may be due to the temperature being too low. The freezer's temperature should be set at 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Check to see where the frost is forming. If it is near the door, then the door may have been left open or the gaskets needs servicing. The defrost heater may need replacing, as well. If the frost is in the back of the freezer, then the defrost cycle needs to be fixed.
If you notice pools of water, this could be due to issues in the waterline, valves or even too much condensation. If this is a one-off issue, then it's not a big deal. However, if this happens regularly, then give us a call and we'll come take a look.
Not Turning On
First step is to see if the freezer is receiving adequate power. Check to see if the freezer has been plugged in properly and if the outlet is working properly. If the power is working properly, then the controls might need replacing. Give us a call and we'll solve this problem quickly.
Not Preserving Your Food Items
This issue can be a very simple fix. Check the thermostat and, if it's above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, adjust it. You also need to see how the freezer has been packed. It should be between seventy-five and eighty-five percent full. If it's too full, then the air won't circulate properly. If the freezer is too empty, then the freezer will struggle with keeping the cold air in. It's also best to pack the items from the center outwards to keep the vents clear.
If none of these tricks change anything, then the thermostat needs replacing.
